Kverneland A-Drill

The a-drill can be equipped with two types of fans depending on seed size, working speed, and machine width.

An electric fan is recommended for small seeds, providing seed rates up to 4 kg/min. For example, this covers 50 kg/ha on a 4 m working width at 12 km/h.

A hydraulic fan is standard on trailed models and handles higher flow rates up to 14 kg/min, allowing 100 kg/ha on a 7 m working width at 12 km/h. Both fans ensure consistent seed delivery across the width of the machine for accurate placement and uniform crop establishment.

The a-drills come with two types of rotors: a small seed rotor for rape, mustard, cabbage, clover, and similar seeds, and a medium rotor for vetch, grass, sunflower, and similar crops. An agitator above the rotor ensures a steady seed flow, while a brush at the base regulates the flow and improves accuracy.

For large seeds such as peas or horse beans, the Flex rotor is recommended. Its flexible design adapts to larger seed diameters, ensuring consistent metering and precise placement, making it the best choice for handling oversized seeds reliably and efficiently.

Two control boxes are available:

• Version 1.2 which allows you to control rotor speed, fan speed when electric driven and switch on/off rotor and fan
• Version 5.2 which allows flow speed regulation, ha and hour counter, self-diagnosis, etc … It can be connected to a radar or 7-pin tractor speed information plug.

The EU nitrate directive aims to protect water resources so-called vulnerable with a rate higher than 50 mg nitrate/l. One of the measures taken into account to avoid leaching, resulting in the generalization of the soil cover in the fall by vegetation cover, which will absorb nitrogen from the soil and air, to convert it into organic nitrogen. The cover crops will then release nitrogen to the next crop (1/3), protect soil against erosion and improve its structure.
